Christopher & Jamie – 7-24-09

This Friday I embarked out on another double header weekend. Friday I was back out to the Aurora Inn in Aurora NY. I actually haven’t been out there yet this year, so it was nice to see some old faces and catch up a little bit with the staff.

Friday I had the opportunity to provide entertainment for Chris and Jamie’s Ceremony and Reception. We had talked a few times on the phone to take care of planning details, at which point Jamie had expressed that they weren’t looking for an “off the wall” party, but that based on the guests they had invited were really just looking for a nice, relaxing evening.

While this isn’t the normal request from most of our couples and isn’t generally the type of party that I do, it was certainly nice to have a change of pace.

We began the afternoon with providing music for their Ceremony. I was concerned that the weather wasn’t going to allow for a lake side Ceremony, however about 20 minutes before we were schedule to begin, the sun came out in full force, the staff dried the chairs and things were shaping up perfectly.

The music playlist for the evening consisted of mostly jack Johnson, Michael buble, frank Sinatra and similar artists. Chris and Jamie indicated that they didn’t have a huge dancing crowd, but wanted me to play music that everyone could relax to and enjoy.

The guests did tend to enjoy the slow dances though. So I made sure to keep plenty of them going.

They also brought in an ice sculpture of a penn state nittany lion. This was a pretty cool little feature that attracted quite a bit of attention throughout the evening.

As I had mentioned, this was a nice and small, intimate Ceremony and Reception. Chris and Jamie invited their closest friends and family members to join them for their big day and we provided them with some nice “chill” music that matched the type of day they were looking for.

Chris and jamie, thank you for having us out.

best wishes,

jason
